Samsic UK has been appointed to provide cleaning services to the Northern Ballet and Phoenix Dance Theatre, the UK’s largest dance centre outside London.
Built in 2010, the purpose-built, six-storey facility on Quarry Hill in central Leeds is a premier dance facility with seven studios, including one of the largest in Europe.
The building also incorporates a 230-seat studio theatre, a health suite, wardrobe facilities, office space, and meeting rooms, and a public exhibition space.
Samsic has been contracted to provide horizontal and vertical cleaning to Quarry Hill and the company’s technical support site at Bramley.
The contract, managed by Samsic’s Leeds office in close proximity to the Northern Ballet estate, commences with accelerated learning provision elevating existing staff to Samsic skill standards, induction, contract and equipment knowledge, and task-based training followed by on-site training, e-learning, and mentoring for the duration of the 3-year contract.
The contractor is also implementing its ISO 14001-accredited Total Green Solutions methodology to support client sustainability objectives and reduce environmental impact across the contract.
£62 million-turnover Samsic UK is a specialist provider of facilities management services servicing 1,500 clients across 3,400 sites with a staffing of 4,300.
The company supports operational delivery with a service excellence centre based in Coventry hosting a BICSc-accredited training centre and corporate functions including finance, HR, SHEQ and procurement.
